The Michigan Street Baptist Church is a priceless cornerstone of the African American Heritage Corridor, still in use and with history as the last stop on the Underground Railroad before escaping slaves made their way to Canada, and freedom. Despite its importance, the church had come into a sad state of disrepair, calling for a campaign to communicate its value and urge philanthropic community members to get involved to preserve this key cultural landmark and all it stands for.
